Ian Simpson has been a management consultant for over 25 years including some 16 years with Towers Perrin, one of the largest international consultancies. His assignments have brought him into contact with all aspects of business including: business strategy, marketing, organisation design and development, human resource management, operations and project management, information systems, physical distribution and accounting and finance.
Ian has worked in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North America for clients in many sectors ranging from consumer and industrial products to government institutions and service organisations. Among the sectors he has worked in are: environmental services/waste management, oil, telecommunications, engineering, water, logistics, transportation, financial services and defence.
Before entering consulting, Ian worked for Tube Investments and subsequently spent over five years in internal management services, first with the British Steel Corporation and then with the National Cash Register Company based in the Netherlands.
Ian holds a BSc in Metallurgy from the University of Wales, and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management. He is a Fellow Chartered Management Consultant. He is also a Member of the Association for Project Management (APM) and a qualified APM Professional (APMP).
