Roger has worked in Europe, North America, Russia, the Middle East, India, Japan and China in sectors ranging from transport, leisure and financial services to government service organisations. He has a specific interest in managing the implementation of large-scale IT systems, especially in customer-driven businesses, and the integration of these with the organisational processes.
Before entering consulting, Roger worked for British Airways where he was specifically identified with the manpower planning, training and organisational development initiatives that prepared the airline for privatisation based upon excellent and efficient service.
Roger holds a BA in English and American Studies from the University of East Anglia. He is a certified member of the Institute of Management Consultants (CIMC), and a member of the Association for Management Education and Development (AMED). He has an MSC in executive coaching, is a visiting Fellow at the Centre for Leadership Studies at Exeter University and is an Associate Faculty member at Cranfield School of Management.
Roger Niven has been a management consultant for over 20 years following a similar period with British Airways. He trained as a consultant in the USA with Towers Perrin and has since worked for German, Canadian and UK based strategic consulting groups.
Roger has worked as a manager and consultant in marketing, operations, finance, training and personnel and now focuses primarily on how to align an organisation’s human resources to improve business performance. He therefore works across the strategic leadership spectrum from designing major change programmes, advising on organisation development or the management of complex projects, to individual or group based executive coaching.
